The city of Fredonia is in good financial shape.
At last night's city commission meeting representative of the CPA firm Jared, Gilmore, and Phillips of Chanute, reported to the commission that the city was in solid financial shape. Fredonia Mayor Allen Miller says keeping close tabs on finances means good things for the city. The accounting firm did recommend the commission reconcile their bank statements at the end of each month to ensure they don't make mistakes regarding the amount of money they are dealing with. Other business before the commission approval for an end-of-summer pool party for residents on September 5th and approval to close the airport for the Endless Foot Drag fly-in that happens near the end of next month.
