A travel advisory for those planning a late summer getaway to a famous Kansas landmark.

 Mount Sunflower, the state's highest peak located in the north west part of the state, has posted this statement on their Facebook page:

       We regret to have to do this, but the entrance to Mount Sunflower is closed due to our cattle. Because the cattle guard filled with silt during the heavy rains, the cows can now walk over it and enjoy the neighbor's corn. You are still welcome to walk in, if you can brave the barbed wire fence and weeds. We'll keep you updated.

Those planning to climb the highest peak in Kansas should take appropriate precautions.
