Students in Independence were celebrating a return to the classroom at last night's Indy Goes Back to School celebration at Riverside Park in Independence.
As students prepare to be back in class, residents should also be aware of kids traveling to and from school. Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce President Candi Westbrook says drivers should be conscious of student safety when driving. Independence and Neodesha begin classes on Wednesday; Coffeyville, Parsons, Caney, and Sedan return to school on Thursday, and Cherryvale goes back on Friday. Students in Fredonia are back in class on August 23rd.
