Property taxes in Neodesha are set to go up slightly.

 

The Neodesha City Commission has approved a resolution to exceed the revenue neutral rate. At yesterday's meeting, a public hearing was held regarding budgets, and City Administrator Ed Truelove says a recent decrease in the mill levy may be due to the recent EMS tax.

 

Truelove says he hasn't been able to schedule a meeting with the county yet to discuss this in detail. Neodesha Mayor Devin Johnson says they have to increase the mill levy just to avoid losing ground.

 

In other business, the commission approved the 2024 budget and ordinances related to zoning, traffic and public offenses in addition to dealing with several dangerous structures.
