Flood Warning for Part of SEK

The flood warnings have been cancelled by the National Weather Service.

 

A flood warning has been issued for several counties in southeast Kansas.

 

The warning is in effect until 1 p.m. for eastern Butler, southern Greenwood and northern Elk County, plus Allen, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson Counties until 2:45 p.m. Rain this morning has prompted flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying areas. Some locations impacted include Howard, Severy, Fall River, Beaumont, Fall River State Park, Parsons, Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia, Thayer and Altoona. The National Weather Service reminds drivers not to go into flooded areas or around barricades. Any observed flooding should also be reported to local emergency services so it can be passed along to the weather service.
