Despite the weekend rain and cooler temperatures, local communities still face a water emergency.

 Customers of Public Wholesale Water District #20 remain in a Stage 3 water emergency and are urged to continue conservation efforts. Twenty-five percent of everyday water usage happens in the kitchen and laundry room. Water saving measures in the kitchen include using as little water as possible when cooking, removing frozen food for use earlier to allow it to thaw without water, and covering pots and pans while cooking. PWWSD #20 serves the communites of Sedan, Longton, Cedarvale, Chataqua, Peru, Granola, Chataqua County, and Montgomery County Rural Water District #5.
