Multiple summer events are coming to an end in Independence.

 

The month of August brings the final two All-Wheels Nights and Cruising Indy, beginning this Friday night. The second All-Wheels Night of the month, on August 11th, will also be kids night.

 

Chamber of Commerce President Lisa Wilson says there will be special activities for the kids.

 

August 13th is the final day to swim at the Riverside Beach Family Aquatic Center. Wilson says this is because of the upcoming lack of life guards available.

 

The Mid-Continent Band will perform their final concert of the summer on August 8th. The band performs at the shell amphitheater of Riverside Park, but will move to the William Inge Theater at Independence Community College if heat is extreme.
