An event will take place today that may be of interest to animal lovers.
The Fredonia Animal Shelter grand opening is today. Many improvements have taken place at what was previously known as the Animal Pound. City Administrator Wesley Young says older wood and mesh pens have been replaced with sturdy metal pens during the past year, and city staff have worked on the projects themselves, saving the city from having to contract projects to outside companies. All are welcome at the grand opening tonight at 6:30 at 1312 ½ N 2nd Street in Fredonia, just behind the recycling center.
