Part of the Independence Police Department completed a major move this week.
IPD Dispatch has relocated to the 1916 City Hall at 120 North 6th Street. Walk-ins are now available at the new location. Independence Police Chief Jerry Harrison says citizens are now able to come to the south entrance of the new location to speak with a dispatcher in person. Dispatchers are still available over the phone at the non-emergency number, which is 620-332-1700. If you have an emergency, Harrison says always call 911.
