The Joplin Police Department releases the identity of a man found deceased last Friday in Shoal Creek.

 50-year-old Stephen Allen of Joplin was pronounced dead at the scene. The Joplin Police Department and multiple water rescue teams responded just after 2:00 Friday afternoon to a van that drove into Shoal Creek near Glendale Road and South Jackson Avenue.

 Officials are still waiting for the results of the autopsy before they determine the cause of Allen’s death.

 The investigation is ongoing.
