Two are arrested in Parsons after fleeing from police.

Early this morning, a Parson Police officer pulled over a GMC Yukon. During the stop, an officer witnessed the passenger, Staci Lee Hayes, concealing a bag with a white substance inside. When the officer asked Hayes to step out of the vehicle the driver, James Darwin Hayes, fled the scene. Officers pursued the vehicle and watched items being thrown out of it. The vehicle finally pulled over and both were arrested. Officers recovered over 44 grams of narcotics, a pistol and over $4,500.

Both James and Stacie Hayes are facing charges of criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, criminal use of a weapon, distribution of certain stimulants, interference with law enforcement, possession of drug paraphernalia and certain stimulants and littering. James is also facing charges of reckless driving, driving while suspended and speeding.
