Yellow Corp Shuts Down Kansas Operations

The upcoming bankruptcy of a major transportation company leads to the closing of their operations in Kansas.

Employees of Yellow Trucking Company were notified last Friday of the shut down of four plants in Kansas, including two locations in Topeka, one in Salina, and one in Baxter Springs.

No bankruptcy paperwork has been filed as of yesterday, but workers in Baxter Springs were seen removing personal belongings and tools from the building.

TeamCare health insurance coverage for laid off union workers is in effect until Saturday at midnight.

Yellow's bankruptcy comes three years after receiving $700 million in pandemic-era loans from the federal government.
