Heat Today, Very Slight T-Storm Chance

Heat continues today with a chance of storms possible.

All of southeast Kansas and several counties in southwest Missouri and northeast Oklahoma including Osage and Washington Counties are under an excessive heat warning again today. The rest of the four-state area will be under a heat advisory. The warning starts at noon for Kansas and 11 a.m. for Oklahoma and will continue until 9 p.m. A heat index of 105 to 108 is expected. In addition, the latest from the Storm Prediction Center shows a chance of thunderstorms between 5 and 10 p.m. tonight. The four-state area is outside of even the marginal risk, so if storms develop they are not likely to be severe.
