Corn Nearly Finished Growing in SEK

 

Corn in southeast Kansas is nearly finished growing.

 

That's according to K-State Research and Extension Crop Agent James Coover, who says yields will vary across the area.

 

Corn silking in southeast Kansas is 96 percent, ahead of the state average of 82 percent. Corn condition across the state is rated 6% very poor, 12% poor, 32% fair, 40% good and 10% excellent.
