The local Salvation Army is celebrating another successful Christmas in July fundraiser.

Montgomery County Coordinator Joe Brooks says the size of the bills in the red kettles tells him a lot.

Volunteers rang bells at Walmart, Country Mart as well as the Caney Market. Brooks says the money raised during the summer will be used for next year's budget and always stays in the community. Brooks says he's very thankful for everyone who volunteered at this year's event, and says it's never too soon to start thinking about bell ringing during the Christmas season.
