Suspects In Court For Bartlesville Shooting

Two suspects in the shooting of Codie King had preliminary hearings in Washington County court Friday afternoon. Joshua Brown is facing charges of first-degree burglary and possession of a firearm as a felon.

Court documents say Brown went to the apartment where Amber and Codie King was living. Upon arriving, the victim Cody King would not let Brown into the apartment which led to a brief scuffle near the door. Brown says after the victim let him in, he tried to walk down the hallway to visit a third-party leasing the apartment, which led to another scuffle.

The alleged killer, 17-year-old Colton Patch Tallchief, then entered the apartment brandishing a small silver handgun. Brown says he saw Tallchief shoot Codie King. Brown is currently being held on a $100,000 bond; his next court date is set for today.

Tallchief will be tried in federal court after being arrested by the FBI. Amber King is being held on a $25,000 bond. She is also being held on a drug court warrant.
