Two Arrested On Drugs Charges In Parsons

 

 Two Parsons residents are arrested after drugs are found in their vehicle.

 Parsons police conducted a traffic stop Tuesday night around 10:00 p.m. in the 1300 block of Grand Avenue for a registration violation. When backup arrived, the canine officer alerted on the vehicle. A search located several different controlled substances, including over 6 grams of meth, and items of drug paraphernalia. 23-year-old Rachel Haslett and 36-year-old Travis Hughes were arrested for possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute within 1000 Feet of a School and possession of drug paraphernalia. Haslett was also arrested for vehicle registration violations.

 Hughes has prior multiple convictions for possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, battery, and most recently, two counts of endangering a child. He was released from the Kansas Department of Corrections supervision in April of 2020.
