Senator Jerry Moran Backs Afghan Adjustment Act

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran joins legislation to help resettle Afghan Refugees. Yesterday Senator Moran joined a group of other bipartisan Senators in backing legislation that would establish a task force to develop and implement a strategy for supporting Afghan allies who were left behind in Afghanistan. The Afghan Adjustment Act would also require the Department of State to respond to congressional inquiries about those eligible for Special Immigrant Visa applications.

Retired 1st Sergeant Slade Deister of Leavenworth says if Congress does not act to support its allies by passing the Afghan Adjustment Act, potential allies in future combat zones are going to be less likely to support U.S. missions after seeing our Afghan partners abandoned.

The legislation has received the endorsement of many organizations including the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
