Even though by some measures the nation is in a recession, Coffeyville is seeing an increase in retail spending. When Coffeyville City Commissioners meet tomorrow night they will receive a report on the 1% sales tax collections for the city, and it’s good news. The city has seen an increase in collections for the third month in a row. For the three month period ending in July the city’s sales tax collections are up 18.65% and 11.32% for the year.
In other business at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting Commissioners will consider entering into an agreement with Spartan Utility Services for a utility pole attachment inventory audit in the city and make an appointment to the Juvenile Community Corrections Board. Commissioners will; meet at 6:30 Tuesday night in City Hall.
