An Independence man is arrested at work in Caney.

Earlier this week, the Caney Police Department received a call from Spear’s Manufacturing regarding a female employee who was assaulted by a co-worker. Officers arrived and were advised the suspect had already left the premises. Caney PD had also received a call from the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Dakota Owens, requesting medical help for an injury he sustained.

An officer responded and took Owens into custody without further incident. Owens was transported for medical treatment and then booked in the Montgomery County Jail for aggravated battery
