The Independence Police Department investigates a crash at Penn and Poplar.

Yesterday evening at around 7:20pm, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed Ryan Barnes, who was driving a red 2004 Chevrolet Aveo, did not stop for the stop sign at the intersection Barnes’ vehicle then struck a white 2010 Toyota pick-up driven by Billy White. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and both drivers were transported due to injuries from the crash.
