John Deere workers in Coffeyville are joining other workers across the country on strike.

More than 10,000 United Auto Workers have gone on strike against John Deere after rejecting the company's latest contract offer. UAW reached a new six-year deal with the company just two weeks ago, only to see 90% of rank-and-file members reject the vote.

This is the nation's largest private-sector strike since 2019, when the UAW committed to a strike against General Motors. Union and management negotiation members talked into the night on Wednesday, but were unable to meet on an agreement.  KGGF reached out to local John Deere representatives but they had no comment at this time.
