Montgomery County has officially closed the book on its Community Development Block Grant funding program.
Jim Kelly, Interim Director of the Montgomery County Action Council, reported that the county had given away a total of $132,000 in grant money. The largest grant was $32,000, with the smallest at coming in at just $2,000.
Kelly said the grants helped retain jobs in the county.
The county is not required to match the grant funding. All money for the program came through the Department of Commerce. Each county was allowed to divide the money received as needed.
