A 50-year old Pittsburg man was injured after a single-vehicle accident in Crawford County Thursday evening.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Michael Madison was driving a 1997 Nissan Altima southbound on South 220th when the vehicle dropped off the west side of the road and then re-entered the roadway and continued south, driving in the northbound lane. The vehicle then left the east side of the road striking a culvert and going airborne. The vehicle came to rest facing south in the east ditch.
Madison was transported to Via Christi Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Seat belts were not in use in the vehicle.
