CVR Meets with Community Concerning Expansion Plans

Officials with CVR Energy met with members of the Coffeyville community last night to talk about their expansion plans and listen to the concerns of citizens.  The company has plans to build a 150,000 square foot facility to house administrative offices, a warehouse, and maintenance shops between First and Second Streets.  The project will also create a buffer zone for the facility from the alley between Third and Fourth Streets north to the refinery and east and west from Maple Street to Sunflower.

A number of citizens expressed concerns about the location of the buffer zone, the effect on property values on the east side, and what would happen to people displaced by the project.  Vice President and Facility General Manager of Coffeyville Refinery, Brent Traxel said the meeting was to hear the community’s concerns and look at how they can move forward,

According to the senior project manager, Sterling Vance the company hopes to start on the project after the first of the year and complete it by sometime in 2022.
