Eleven Chanute USD 413 school administrators are in quarantine after several tested positive for COVID-19 after they returning from a leadership retreat.
Staff members and community partners at USD 413 learned on Friday that at least three people on the “Building/District leadership team” had COVID-19. On Monday, three more people who were on the retreat had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to six. The symptoms for those infected ranges from minor to severe and one person is in the ICU.
USD 413 has said as of right now this does not change their opening date of August 24th for students but it is still a very fluid situation. The district has scheduled a webinar for tonight at 5:30 that will be streamed on their Facebook page to provide updates and information for the new school year.
