A Chanute man was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of child abuse.

The Chanute Police Department along with the assistance of a Allen County Sheriff Deputy, responded to the area of 900 block of South Evergreen for a report of possible child abuse. Upon officers arrival, they began to investigate the complaint and talk with the parties involved. During the investigation, 39-year old Travis E. Seuser was arrested for child abuse. The two juvenile children in the home were taken into police protective custody. The Juvenile Justice Authority was contacted for screening and placement outside the home.

Seuser was transported to the Neosho County Jail without incident. The investigation is still ongoing at this time
