Montgomery County businesses may now apply for CDBG-CV Grants to receive additional funding. Applications opened up on Wednesday and are available to any for-profit businesses of 50 employees or less that are retaining jobs for low-to-medium income people. The funding was awarded by the Kansas Department of Commerce as part of the CARES Act.

The Montgomery County Action Council's Trisha Purdon said the grants are open to a wide range of businesses.

However, businesses that would otherwise qualify for CDBG Grant funding may not be eligible. Purdon said any business that has already received CARES Act funding can not apply for the new grants.
