Water Shut Off for Cherokee beginning Monday

The city of Cherokee says water will be shutoff from June 15th to June 19th to replace bolts on their water valves.

The city will dig up and replace the old bolts with stainless steel bolts that do not rust. They will shut off the water starting at 7:00 A.M. each morning of the week and  have the water back on by 4:00 P.M. each day.

The city will likely be on a boil advisory for the whole week. Non-drinking water will be available for flushing toilets, but the city encourage residents to stock up on drinking water.

The storm siren will sound when the water is being shut off.
