The Montgomery Country Health Department announced that the first case of COVID-19 was located in Montgomery County on Saturday.
The MCHD was notified by a local healthcare provider of the positive case. The case involves man over the age of 60. The MCHD is working to identify any close contacts of the individual and those who were exposed will be contacted as soon as possible. No further information about the patient was released acting in accordance with patient privacy laws.
The MCHD strongly recommends that all residents and members of the community do everything they can to “stay safe and stay at home” following Governor Kelly's Executive Order announced at around noon on Saturday.
