The Montgomery County Commissioners met for their weekly meeting on Monday in Independence with a wide range of topics on the agenda.

The Commissioners opened the meeting as usual with the approval of the agenda, minutes and invoices for the week. There was a representative in attendance from the AWOL Humane Society in Independence to discuss increasing the amount of support in the budget with one of the main factors being that they have had the same budget since 1992. Wright provided a project programming request that needed to be signed by all of the Commissioners. He also made a change with employee status as a member from road and bridge was moving to a new job inside the noxious weed department. (FULL AUDIO)

County Health Director Carolyn Muller stopped by for just a brief minute as she was in need of signatures for grant applications.

Towards the end of the meeting there was a public hearing regarding Prosperiti Builders as they continue to prepare and work towards getting their business set up at their new location at the old Southwire building near the Industrial Park.
