The Labette County Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public about a scam going around regarding Medicare.

The potential scammers are saying that your doctor has prescribed medications for you and all they need to fill the medication is your Medicare number. If you use a local pharmacy, they will have all your insurance information, and no need to call you asking for it.

If you receive one of these calls simply hang up on the caller. If you have any other questions, call your pharmacist or doctor to verify before giving out that information.
