A Chanute man was arrested early Tuesday morning on multiple traffic and drug charges.

Officers with the Chanute Police Department attempted to stop a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 20-year old Javen R. Stubbs, in south Chanute. Stubbs refused to stop the vehicle, and officers discontinued following the vehicle just outside the city limits. During the investigation, officers were able to identify the driver of the vehicle. Later that same evening, officers located the same vehicle and driver once again in the Chanute city limits.

Stubbs was arrested and transported to the Neosho County Jail on charges of felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving without a license, disobeying stop signs, speeding, along with other traffic violations. After obtaining a search warrant, Chanute Police K9 was deployed and after the search was completed, charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were added.

The 2010 Chevrolet Malibu was seized pending forfeiture action.
