The selection of a preliminary hearing date for an Independence man on trail for murder has been postponed. 18 year old Benjamin Mason is on trail for first degree murder in the drive-by shooting death of 19 year old Kimberly Meeks.
Mason who was arrested on December 15th appeared in court Tuesday morning to be informed that his attorney was out with the flu and Judge William Cullins pushed the selection of a preliminary hearing date back to March 17th.
