Bridge Construction Begins in Pittsburg

Construction has begun on the new K-126 bridge over Cow Creek in Pittsburg as the first beams were set on the north half of the road. The work zone is just west of the U.S. 69 bypass.

Project activity includes: reconstructing and widening the roadway to 56 feet, replacing the traffic signal heads at the U.S. 69/K-126 intersection, and pouring new concrete at each end of the bridge. Two-way traffic is being carried through the work zone in staged construction phases.

B&B Bridge Company is contractor on the bridge replacement, which has a construction cost of nearly $3 million.
