Tri-City Airport to Receive FAA Funds

After receiving $225,000 in grants from KDOT last week to replace fuels tanks for it's facility, the Tri-City airport will be receiving just over $916,000 in funds from the Federal Aviation Administration for the construction of a new taxiway.

The new taxiway will connect the existing taxiway with the airport's runway. The new taxiway will also allow pilots to get on and off the runway quicker and not use the runway as a taxiway after landing. Parsons will have to match 10% of the funding but the city has budgeted for that amount in anticipation of the possibility of receiving the grant.
