Road Construction Approved in Crawford and Greenwood Counties

 

The Kansas Department of Transportation have announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas. The letting took place January 13th in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

 

Included in the construction and maintenance projects for Crawford County are the K-126 bridge being replaced over the Kansas City Southern Railway located half-a-mile east of the U.S. 69 Business/K-126 junction in Pittsburg. Also in Crawford County, U.S. 69 from just south of 20th Street to just north of 20th Street in Pittsburg will be milled and overlayed. Both projects combined will cost just over $7.5 million.

 

In Greenwood County, the U.S. 54 bridge over the Verdigris River will be repaired at a cost of just over $97,000.
