Meth Bust in Baxter Springs

A drug bust by state troopers in southeast Kansas netted 33 pounds of methamphetamine.

The Baxter Springs Police Department said in a Sunday morning Facebook post that officers assisted Kansas Highway Patrol troopers in the bust. The 33 pounds of meth were found after cutting open secret panels. The 33 pounds of meth would have a street value ranging from $115,500 to $165,000.

A 2018 KBI report on meth in the state lists the price per pound between $3,500 and $5,000.
