Two Chanute Men Arrested on Multiple Charges

Two Chanute men were arrested for a variety of charges including unlawful discharging a firearm on Tuesday.

Officers with the Chanute Police Department responded to the area of the 1400 block of South Evergreen for a report of what sounded like shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers learned of the house where the gun shots were coming from and were told possibly had several children inside.

During the investigation, 57-year old Robert Coble was arrested for unlawful discharging of a firearm, aggravated endangering of a child, and interference with a law enforcement officer. While still at the residence, 20-year old Anthony Holland was also arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer and interference with law enforcement. A search warrant was served at the residence after the residence was safe. Several loaded and spent shell casings along with firearms were seized at the residence.

They were both transported to the Neosho County Jail without incident.
