January Recognized As Stalking Awareness Month in Kansas

Governor Laura Kelly has signed a proclamation declaring January to be "Stalking Awareness Month" in the state of Kansas. Gov. Kelly stated the month will be dedicated to raising awareness and educating residents about resources available in the state. According to data from the Kansas Coalition against Sexual and Domestic Violence, over 1,600 Kansans reached out for victim services in 2018 due to stalking incidents.

The coalition's website contains resources for those going through crisis. The website also lists several local service areas available to Kansas, including locations in Cowley, Crawford, and Allan Counties.
