The Chanute Police Department have have said they have received reports of a string car burglaries from earlier this week.

The burglaries were reported in the 400 block of South Lafayette to the 300 block of North Lafayette. Police have asked if you have cameras on your residence in this stretch of road, please contact the Chanute Police Department at 620-431-5768 and ask to speak with an officer.

The Chanute Police Department would also like to remind everyone to not leave valuable items such as purses, wallets, currency, firearms, anything someone may consider of any value in your vehicles, especially unlocked or in plain view where some one can see it.
