Two men were arrested in Chanute during a traffic stop for multiple drug charges.

On Monday, officers with the Chanute Police Department conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, Chanute Police Department, K9 Azul, was deployed on the vehicle and discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and mushrooms. 40-year old Calvin Lee McGinnis of Chanute was arrested for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within 1000 feet of school, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1000 feet of a school, possession of a hallucinogen (mushrooms), transporting an open container and driving while suspended.

Also arrested was 19-year old Michael Brandon Kunz for possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school, possession of a hallucinogen (mushrooms), transporting open container.

Reports will be forwarded to the Neosho County Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of charges being filed.
