Eight People Injured In Montgomery County Wreck

 

Eight people were injured Sunday morning in a 2-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 75, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department.

 

The crash occurred at approximately 9:30 on U.S. 75 at CR 5400. 36-year old Lisa Wood of Neodesha and 7 juveniles were transported from the scene by EMS. Wood and four juveniles were transported to Independence ER while the other 3 juveniles with taken to Wilson County Medical Center in Neodesha.

 

62-year old Ronald Hale was driving a 2011 white Ford van north on U.S. Highway 75 and attempted to make a left hand turn onto CR 5400. According to Hale, he did not see Wood's 2018 blue Kia traveling south on Highway 75 due to the thick fog. Wood's vehicle struck the passenger's side of the van which ended up in the ditch and while Wood's car came to rest in the middle of the highway. One passenger was ejected from the van and landed in a ditch.

 

Hale was issued a citation for failing to yield while turning left.
