A Cherryvale man has admitted to offering marijuana and money to young girls in exhange for child pornography.

On Tuesday, 21-year old Austin Ballew pleaded guilty to five counts of sexually exploiting a child and three counts of sex trafficking. Seven other charges against Ballew were dismissed in exchange for his plea bargain.

Prosecutors said Ballew used a fake Facebook account posing as a teenager and offered teenage girls in southeast Kansas marijuana and money for sexually explict photos and videos.  He also threatened to make the videos public if the girls stopped cooperating.

His sentencing is set for March 23rd and he faces between 15 to 25 years in a federal prison.
