Winter Solstice Observatory Night Scheduled for Saturday Night

The Greenbush Astrophysical Observatory in Pittsburg will be holding its monthly observatory night this Saturday, December 20th at 7pm with a presentation by resident astronomy guru Josh Cochran, followed by a viewing of the night sky using the research-grade telescope. Smaller telescopes, binoculars, and iPads loaded with astronomy apps are also available for visitors to enjoy.

This event coincides with the Winter Solstice, which marks the darkest and shortest day of the year in our hemisphere. Come learn about how and why our seasons change and how that is related to the patterns of stars in the sky.
