The City of Independence will be conducting a disaster drill, designed to be an active shooter situation, this Wednesday at ICC West Campus on West Main Street. The drill will take place at 1:30 p.m, and is designed to test the response of emergency services and the emergency response plan for the city.

The drill is being performed with assistance from Independence Fire-EMS & Police, Independence Labette Health, Labette Health, Montgomery Emergency Management, Independence Community College  and the Montgomery County Sheriff's office. No citizens will be allowed into the ICC West Campus during the drill, but there will be precautions taken to ensure the safety of residents, including proper signage and security.
