Getting Your Turkey Ready for the Big Day

 

Thanksgiving is just over a week away and according to the National Turkey Federation, nearly 88% of Americans will eat turkey that day. Kansas State University Food Scientist Karen Blakeslee says it's important to make sure your turkey is ready to go especially if it's frozen.

 

If there isn’t enough time to thaw a frozen turkey in the refrigerator, Blakeslee suggestst hawing it in a large sink or tub by submerging it in cold water and changing the water about every 30 minutes.
