The Coffeyville Police Dispatch was flooded Wednesday with calls with reports from local citizens about a social security scam. Multiple people in Coffeyville were getting calls from someone claiming to be from the “Social Security Office” asking residents for their personal information.

CPD reminded citizens to never give any of your personal information out over the phone to someone you don’t know. The numbers the scammers were calling from were 800-848-8423 and 844-306-4480. If you receive a call from one of these numbers, simply do not answer the call.
