The Coffeyville Walk the Block Project will launch with a “shoelace cutting” and a 2 ½ mile walk on Wednesday, October 9th at 5PM, at the Downtown Plaza kiosk. The community is invited to attend and participate in the Walk along the newly marked sidewalk path by two gardens and parks.
Walk the Block is funded through a 2019 AARP Community Challenge Grant utilizing a newly resurfaced and undiscovered sidewalk on 9th Street and transforming it into a 2½ mile fitness tour. The marked sidewalk path was made possible by the AARP grant and support of the City of Coffeyville, Coffeyville’s Reawakening, Coffeyville Area Community Foundation, numerous business and community volunteers.
