The Independence City Commision has granted conditional use permits for a couple of residental lots in the city. 

The three-person commission approved a conditional use permit for short term rentals at 305 S. 10th Street, and a use permit for a bed and breakfast at 2712 Rolling Green Drive. George and Julie Eisele were in attendance at the meeting and appeared before the commission to answer questions and provide more information. 

City commissioner Leonhard Caflisch said granting the permits for use would likely benefit not only the Eiseles, but also those looking for a place to stay short-term.

As conditions for the permit, off-street parking at the private property must be provided and any exterior lighting must not have an adverse effect on any neighboring properties.
